The Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Architecture Awards has a named award!

Phiip Follent LFRAIA

We are delighted to announce that the premier acknowledgement for the GCNR Awards will be the ‘Philip Follent Award for Building of the Year’. 

From 2021, the region will celebrate its top prize alongside our other regional named awards, John Dalton Award (Brisbane);  JW Wilson Award (Central Queensland); William Hodgen Award (Darling Downs and West Moreton); Eddie Oribin Award (Far North Queensland); Walter and Oliver Tunbridge Award (North Queensland) and Gabriel Poole Award (Sunshine Coast). 

Philip Follent LFRAIA is an esteemed practitioner, who lives and works on the Gold Coast. He was the Gold Coast City Architect, Queensland Government Architect and founding Head of the Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, Bond University. He is a Life Fellow of the Institute. 

An award-winning architect, eminent jurist, and tireless advocacy for the built environment and sustainable city shaping, Philip is an distinguished addition to our Award ‘Names’.  

Philip was selected by the Gold Coast members through a polling process, which National Council recently approved. Congratulations Philip.
