The Australian Institute of Architects NT Chapter is delighted to unveil the jury for the 2025 Northern Territory Architecture Awards. The awards offer an unrivalled opportunity to showcase the extraordinary depth and breadth of Northen Territory’s architectural talent.
Architects will present their projects to the jury on 29th April (Regional) and 30th April (Darwin) and members and the public are invited to watch these presentation or attend in Person. Registrations for these events will be open once entries close on 21st March.
Matt Elkan RAIA – Jury Chair | Incidental Architecture
Matt Elkan is a principal of Incidental Architecture. Incidental is a small practice working primarily on residential and small community projects with a social and environmental focus. Matt is based in Sydney, but working in lots of places around Australia and overseas including Darwin, Perth, Canberra, regional NSW and Japan. Incidental Architecture were recipients of a number of awards at the 2024 NT Architecture Awards, and one National Award for their project at Nungalinya College. Matt’s interest in the 2025 NT Architecture Awards is to celebrate tropical and regional architecture, particularly work that responds to its place and people with care and sensitivity.
Katy Moir RAIA | Deicke Richards Architects Pty Ltd
Katy Moir is an Architect who has been working in the NT for over 10 years. She relocated to Gulmerrogin (Darwin) to join Troppo Architects before commencing her independent practice in 2017. She is now the NT Studio Lead for Deicke Richards Architects, as well as the Deputy Chairperson on the NT Heritage Council and a practicing artist.
A dedicated local expert, Katy focuses on community representation and amplifying underrepresented voices in her work.
Jan-Marie Jaillei Interior Architect MDIA | JMJ Interiors | Deputy Chair SA/NT Design Institute | Lay/Guest Juror
An award-winning interior designer with over 25 years of international experience, Jan-Marie Jaillei has honed her craft across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Trained at London’s renowned Inchbald School of Design in Interior Architecture and holds a diploma in Architectural Feng Shui from the New York Design Institute, her approach blends global design influences with modern luxury. As the founder of Darwin-based JMJ Interiors for the past 10 years she leads a talented team in delivering bespoke residential and commercial projects from concept through to completion of build. A respected industry leader and Deputy Chair of the DIA SA/NT branch, Jan-Marie is honoured to serve as a lay/guest judge for the 2025 Architectural Awards.
Paul Bartsch | Associate Grad | EmAGN Co-Chair
Paul will assist with Emerging Architect Prize entries for the Awards and also will sit on the jury for the EmAGN Awards projects.
