The Australian Institute of Architects is seeking five members to establish a working group to act as an advisory group ensuring the effective digitalisation of the existing ABIC Suite of Products.
The Institute recently signed an agreement alongside its ABIC joint venture partner – Master Builders Australia (MBA) with a third-party technology provider to make the ABIC Suite of Products available digitally.
The ABIC working group’s overarching role is to ensure the effective digitalisation of the existing ABIC Suite of Products to meet both operational and member needs. Institute representatives will work alongside MBA representatives in this working group.

The working group will provide input into the design and functionality of the new digital platform, specifically considering the user experience for efficient contract execution.
These tasks may include:
- Development of categories and filtering criteria.
- Development of a list of functionality specifications for the web developer.
- Providing feedback on the design.
- User acceptance testing.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The working group will comprise of up to five people representing the Institute’s interests.
Diversity of representation is sought across:
- Practice size
- Practice type
- Location
- Gender
- Career Stage
- Experience in various project typologies
ELIGIBILITY
- Member of RAIA in good standing.
- Be a registered architect in at least one jurisdiction in Australia
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES
Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience as a contract administrator using the ABIC suite contracts.
COMMITMENTS
The working group will meet weekly via video conference. The tenure of all working group members is expected to be approximately 3 months. Communications will be predominately via email and video conference.
OBLIGATIONS
Committee members must fulfil their roles in an accountable, professional, and expedient manner.
