2024 Greater Brisbane Regional Awards Commended Projects and Event Photos

The Queensland Chapter had their first 2024 Regional Awards event on Friday, 3 May 2024.

The Greater Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards were held at Rivershed, Brisbane on Friday, 3 May. Entries included submissions into 11 different categories, a variety of entries throughout the ‘Greater’ region. A variety of projects were named award winners and commendations were given across the categories.

Award winners:

• Bradbury Park Playscape by Alcorn Middleton, John Dalton Award for Building of the Year
• Kangaroo Point House by Nielsen Jenkins for Architecture, Greater Brisbane House of the Year
• Bradbury Park Playscape by Alcorn Middleton for Greater Brisbane People’s Choice Award

Commended projects in for the Buildings that Breathe Prize this year are:

• Rivière, Bates Smart
• The Greenhouse, Blight Rayner Architecture

Commended projects in the Commercial Architecture category this year are:

• 11 Logan Road, KIRK
• The Belvedere, KP Architects
• The Greenhouse, Blight Rayner Architecture

Commended projects in the Educational Architecture category this year are:

• All Hallow’s School, The Potter Building Adaptive Re-Use Project, Fulton Trotter Architects
• CHAC Primary Administration, Reddog Architecture in conjunction with Blueline Architecture
• New Farm State School, BVN
• STEAM Precinct Brisbane Grammar School, Wilson Architects
• UQ Brisbane City, BVN

Commended projects in the Heritage Architecture category this year are:

• Catherine’s House, Architectus Conrad Gargett
• UQ Brisbane City, BVN with Architectus Conrad Gargett

Commended projects in the Interior Architecture category this year are:

• Aidan’s Place, Blight Rayner Architecture
• Australian Retirement Trust Workplace, Cox Architecture
• Hassell Studio Brisbane, Hassell
• Law Society House, BVN

All commended projects in the series of regional awards progress to Queensland State Awards consideration. The shortlist is judged by the Queensland State Awards Jury.
