Gadigal
NSW
Located on Gadigal Country in the former industrial suburb of Alexandria, the pavilion on the Eastern edge of revitalised Perry Park is home to a new FIFA sized playing field.
The project is part of the City of Sydney’s 2030 vision to build active sports infrastructure across the city. The project responds directly to the client’s brief for clear civic presence, while being a small building in a larger park setting.
Recent amenities and pavilion buildings are enjoying a renaissance across our city. These simple buildings are an opportunity to express architecture in a pure and essential form. Utilitarian, yet highly visible, such buildings are evidence of care and investment in the public domain and form a key part of place identity.
Scale Architecture has designed a fantastic new amenities pavilion at Perry Park which brings delight and joy to the myriad of sporting groups that use it.
Economical but generous, with natural light, passive ventilation and shade for spectators, Scale’s pavilion is meticulously detailed and built. The pavilion forms part of the gateway to the Perry Park sports precinct and establishes civic presence through material innovation and robustness. It is a real and valuable asset to our community.Client perspective
