Project summary

Our work with Insurance Australia Group (IAG) marks the dawn of new workplace behaviours.

Tasked with designing their newest workplaces in Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne, COX created a set of physical spaces that support people through collaboration and wellbeing. Designing each IAG simultaneously, their concepts were conceived from one idea while retaining a sense of individually that speaks to their locality.

The design of the IAG Adelaide office interiors is influenced by the local landscape unique to South Australia. Strong mountain greens and rich red combine to reflect its locational context and narrative. The deep colours complement a fresh and clean neutral palette, with pops of colour creating whimsy and playfulness.

Whilst Brisbane’s interiors were designed to reflect a green tropical city, and Melbourne’s colour palette reflect its bluestone streets and urban laneway culture. All sites share biophilia throughout, promoting wellbeing and enhancing amenities.

IAG’s new offices are pivotal to improved workplace experience and productivity. They are flagships of our portfolio. The offices support hybrid working, enable increased collaboration, talent attraction, drive connection and are catalyst for our cultural evolution. The design aligns with our Group People Strategy and IAG Way of Working embracing flexibility and celebrating inclusion. Flexible design enables hackability allowing offices to adapt as our organisation continues to evolve. Reduction of footprint leads to every sqm becoming a purposeful destination and through diversity of space encourages our people to reimagine today whilst leading the way in Workplace Accessibility and Sustainability.
