2022 SA Awards Entries Update

Entries for the 2022 SA Architecture Awards are still open. The Institute’s awards program enables public and peer recognition of the innovative work of our members, and provides the Institute with a valuable mechanism to promote architects and architecture across Australia and internationally

To enter the Australian Institute of Architects Architecture Awards Program, entrants must be:

  • an architect registered in the state or territory of the project, and
  • an Institute Member at the time of entry, and
  • a principal of the practice who owns, or is a formal licensee of, the copyright in the work being entered.

Before submitting an entry into the 2022 SA Architecture Awards, please become familiar with the Awards, Prizes and Honours Policy and Awards Entry Handbook.

We encourage you to begin your entries as early as possible to ensure completion by 15 February. Remember that there are a number of categories with no entry fees. You may be eligible for one or several of these awards and prizes

EmAGN Project Award

Open to any project where at least 75% of the team is represented by members from within the EmAGN demographic and the lead project architect for this project is part of the EmAGN demographic.

Sustainable Architecture Award

Please note that the Sustainable Architecture Award Checklist is not a mandatory requirement for submissions for the Sustainable Architecture Award in 2022 and should instead be used a guideline for what the Jury will be looking for. Alternative examples and evidence for the sustainability of your project are welcome.

City of Adelaide Prize

Any project located in the City of Adelaide and completed within the past two years is eligible. This Prize recognises and awards innovative built projects including public art and temporary contributions to public space that activate and enliven the City’s public spaces and engage with the community.

SA Architecture Medal

All entries in the 2022 SA Awards Program are eligible for the SA Architecture Medal, which recognises the project that has made the most significant contribution to the architecture of South Australia this year.
