The Newcastle Architecture Awards celebrates design excellence in architecture in Newcastle. It is also a great way for architects to receive public and peer recognition for projects and helps the Institute to promote architects and architecture within Newcastle, NSW, across Australia and internationally. This year’s projects demonstrate the high calibre of architecture being produced in the Newcastle region.
Winners were announced at a special virtual presentation livestreamed on YouTube on Friday 19 March 2021.
Sixteen projects across ten categories were recognised by the jury for their contribution to architecture in Newcastle, with accolades awarded to:

The livestreamed event was hosted by Viv O’Connell, and featured Newcastle Division Co-Chair of the NSW Regional Committee Phoebe Glanville, Jury Chair Philip Pollard and NSW Chapter President Laura Cockburn.
