2024 NORTHERN TERRITORY STATE ELECTION

DESIGNING FOR THE FUTURE OF THE TERRITORY

The Northern Territory Chapter of the Institute is alerting all political parties in the coming election to the challenges and how they can be met, which we articulate in our 2024 State Election Priorities statement.

TERRITORIANS AT THE CROSSROADS

The priorities for Norther Territory are opportunities the architecture profession can address for both immediate benefits and longer-term enablers for a strong and sustainable Territory.

Our members nationally and in the Northern Territory recognise that we are at the crossroads of our long-term environmental, economic, social and cultural wellbeing.

The challenges we face include climate change, the provision of safe and long-lasting buildings, building local capacity for design and construction, delivering value through design advisory role in government and consistent government procurement practices investing in good, sustainable housing for all Territorians.

Our priorities for the Northern Territory focus on opportunities the architecture profession proposes that will create immediate benefits and longer-term enablers for a strong and sustainable Territory.

This can be achieved though well-considered design of our built environment and support for the Northern Territory built environment industry that delivers this.
