Chapter Council comprises elected members from the Institute’s international membership and works with staff to guide the Chapter’s policy and program agenda. The International Chapter Chair, elected by overseas members, represents the Institute’s international interests on National Council as well as being a public spokesperson for international programs.

Richard is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland and a South Bank Corporation Board Member.
Over the last seven years (2015-present), Richard held several leadership roles within the AIA as National President and Queensland Chapter President.
Within these roles, he contributed to the contemporary corporate structure transformation of the Institute’s governance and assisted in authoring the new constitution
Ms Alice Hampson LFRAIA is an architect, writer, architectural historian, University of Queensland graduate of Design Studies and Architecture (1st Cl), with the QIA RAIA Medallion and BOAQ Prizes.

As a historian and expert assessor for cultural heritage, Ms Hampson specialises in mid-twentieth century works and for six years was Councillor on the Queensland Heritage Council and a contributing editor for Architecture Media. Hampson is a Past National President of RAIA and an inaugural member of the Official Residents Advisory Committee for the Federal Government. In 2022 she was appointed Deputy Chair of the Board of Architects Queensland.

Allen’s work has been recognised with many international awards including UN World Habitat Award and UN Scroll of Honour for Human Settlements, UIA Architecture for All; World Congress of Health and Design for Salutogenic Design; .World Architecture News for Sustainability and Banksia Foundation Design for Sustainability.
For the past 21 years Warren has been the National Director of the HAMES SHARLEY Health Portfolio based in Perth Western Australia. In addition to his formal qualifications in architecture, Warren has a Masters Degree in health administration and a post-graduate diploma in project facilitation.

Belinda is the Principal Architect and Access Consultant of her own Melbourne based practice, Haptic Space. She has over 25 years’ experience in the design and delivery of enabling and therapeutic environments, and also provides advisory services for built environment professionals, building owners and developers in accessible and inclusive design.

She is currently undertaking cross-disciplinary PhD research into environments for stroke rehabilitation, based at Deakin University and working in conjunction with the NOVELL Redesign collaboration based at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. Belinda currently represents the Institute on the International Union of Architects (UIA) Architecture for All Work Group in Region IV, represents the Victorian chapter on the Institute’s National Enabling Architecture Committee and chairs the Victorian subcommittee.

Andrew trained in architecture at the Queensland University of Technology, the University of North London, and in Project Management at the Queensland University of Technology. After graduation, of his first degree, Andrew worked in Cleveland, USA; London, United Kingdom; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Andrew is an Architect / Project Manager with over 30 years of major project experience through USA, New Zealand, Malaysia, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, China, and extensively in Australia. He has worked on a large selection of project types from feasibilities, masterplans, overlays, reviews, small extensions of existing facilities, through to complete new major facilities.
Andrew brings a substantial level of major, international sports and event architecture experience with involvements on sports infrastructure around the globe and including 3 Olympic games (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 & Beijing 2008). He has an in depth knowledge of the technical and briefing requirements of sports and event facilities as well as global trends in these venues and industries.
Andrew is also a recognised expert in ballistic, high security and Defence/Defence Industry projects. Many of these project involvements have been in technical, high-tech, sovereign capability projects where a first principals approach is required. Andrew is a recognised expert in Firing Range and Sovereign Defence Manufacturing facilities.
Andrew’s recent project expertise includes Mass Engineered Timber (MET) projects using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and Glu-Laminated Timber (GLT) structures. Through his recent completed MET projects, Andrew is considered one of the leading MET Architects in Australia.
Andrew has completed a Master of Project Management, specialising in the procurement of major projects in Australia and New Zealand. He has also completed his PhD in construction management investigating the use of the internet for information sharing on construction projects. These specialist areas of research are unique and allows a further level of professional advice and management to clients
