"SONA aims to foster a community with a culture of mateship and growing into industry professionals together. Through my connection to SONA I have made valuable networks and lifelong friendships. This is something I hope to continue to do, and pave the way for other students like me, to have the same positive experience. "
Chris Jensen
Super Studio Creative Director & National Juror
Chris Jensen
Chris joined the University of Melbourne from industry bringing extensive experience as a sustainability consultant on a wide range of projects including high performance commercial office buildings, energy modelling in Antarctica, shading impacts of super-tall buildings and off-grid low tech residential dwellings. His expertise includes high performance buildings including facades, systems, services, renewables and design for net-zero, often with reference to European trends and systems.
His recent research is focused on resilient design solutions in the face of extreme weather events that are increasing in frequency and intensity globally, with numerous recent devastating events in Australia. Examples of this includes adaptation design strategies for building preservation to facilitate reuse following a cyclone, flood or fire. Chris is the current President of the Architectural Science Association (ASA), with the aim to connect academic and industry research in the field of architectural science.
