Institute of Architects Congratulates Premier Crisafulli and Offers Support in Building a Prosperous Queensland

Off the back of last week’s election victory, the Australian Institute of Architects (The Institute), Queensland Chapter, has extended its congratulations to David Crisafulli and the Liberal National Party following their recent victory in the 2024 Queensland State Election

Russell Hall, the Institute’s Queensland Chapter President congratulated David Crisafulli and the Liberal National Party on their success in the 2024 Queensland State Election.

“These election results mark a pivotal opportunity for Queensland and we look forward to working with Premier Crisafulli to achieve a resilient, climate-ready state,” said Hall.

In a letter to Premier Crisafulli, Hall pledged the Institute’s support for a collaborative approach to strengthen Queensland’s infrastructure, housing, and workforce, aligning with the new government’s vision for a safer, stronger, and more affordable Queensland.

The Institute highlighted architects’ essential role in fulfilling these commitments, emphasising their dedication to strengthening the resilience, quality, climate appropriateness and sustainability of Queensland’s built environment. This is highlighted thoroughly in the Institute’s Queensland Election Priorities document.

“Architects bring vital expertise to this vision, offering unique contributions such as designing efficient, high-quality, and affordable housing solutions that can be rapidly deployed,” said Hall.

“We’re committed to shaping Queensland’s built environment to withstand climate challenges including flooding and fires. We also actively seek collaborative opportunities that align architectural expertise with government priorities to drive Queensland’s growth and sustainability goals.”

Hall also emphasised the Institute’s support in delivering an affordable, world-class Olympic and Paralympic experience that provides lasting benefits to Queenslanders.

“Investing in quality design and architectural insight is essential to ensure Queensland’s infrastructure delivers lasting value for all residents,” he said.
