The purpose of the National Architecture Awards is to encourage and acknowledge excellence in architecture through a system of judging by peer groups.
Institute members who would like to express interest in becoming a member of the jury for the 2025 International Chapter Architecture Awards are invited to complete the form below, and submit as soon as possible, but no later than Monday 18 November 2024. For further information, refer to the Jury Handbook (note that this is yet to be amended to reflect the 2025 awards dates).
This awards program acknowledges the work of Institute members who reside outside Australia, as well as domestic members undertaking commissions overseas. Projects entered in the International Chapter Architecture Awards must be located outside the eight State and Territory jurisdictions of Australia.
The International Architecture Awards jury consists of:
- 3 to 5 jurors
- Jurors will be selected from the EOI process annually and nominated by the International Chapter Council, accompanied by a recommendation.
- The final juror selection is endorsed by the International Chapter Chair from the proposed nominees
- A Jury Chair will be appointed from the selected jurors by the International Chapter Chair.
In lieu of a site visit, jury evaluation may be undertaken using (i) a short video walk-through or PowerPoint presentation, (ii) a teleconference interview with short-listed entrants, and/or (iii) an independent visit-report of the local architectural institute.
Jury members are required to be:
- current Institute members
- available for jury briefings, evaluations and deliberations
- confident in evaluating entries according to core criteria
- not entering a project into the 2025 International Architecture Award
The International Chapter is not able to cover travel for jurors, if you wish to attend the International Chapter Awards Presentation event jurors will receive a complimentary ticket, however travel costs cannot be covered.

Please only nominate as a jury member if you are available on the following dates:
- Presentation of entries to the jury: Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 February 2025
- Jury briefings and evaluations (in lieu of site visits): Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 March 2025 (3 x 2 hours sessions)
- Awards presentation: Location and date 2025 TBA
- All jury members are required to attend the online jury briefings, evaluations, deliberations
- Jurors receive a complimentary ticket to the International Chapter Awards presentation event but must cover their own travel costs.
