Queensland Chapter Members Forum

All Queensland members are invited to join us at the Chapter Auditorium on Thursday 3 August for a Members Forum. The purpose of this forum is to have an open, broad discussion around key issues facing the profession.

The Forum is intended to provide an opportunity for members to discuss openly how they would like to see the Institute respond to a number of current issues and challenges, and what role individual members can play in that. This in turn will hopefully give us all an insight into key issues we face as a profession, and will help inform our responses at a Chapter level through Chapter Council and its role, via National Councillors, to work its way up to National Council, and the National Executive where many of the key decisions of policy are made.

Date:
 Thursday 3 August 2017

Time:

Refreshments 5:30pm - 6:00pm
Formalities: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

In recent weeks we have put a call out to members requesting input, 3 Key Issues members are facing, for this discussion. We will draw on that feedback as well as issues brought forward by the Qld Regional Chairs (informed by local Qld regional member group meetings, currently underway) as representatives from all regions will be in attendance at the Members Forum.

The Members Forum will broadly focus on the following topics:

  • Issues of Practice
  • Architectural Education
  • Public Engagement
  • Our Institute

Panel Members: To be Confirmed

MC:
Michael Keniger LFRAIA

Panel members will be selected from across many topical areas, and will include individuals who are not formal representatives of the Institute – as it is intended that this forum be a broader discussion than solely Institute matters, but those issues which concern our industry and the architectural profession.

CPD:

The seminar is worth 2 Informal CPD points.
